After a better-than-expected season last year, the New York Giants have turned a lot of heads around the NFL, with head coach Brian Daboll proving to be the real deal and someone that was able to change the culture of the team immediately.
One of the team’s priorities heading into the NFL offseason was taking care of one of its most important players, as the team agreed to terms on a lucrative long-term deal with quarterback Daniel Jones.
Although that was a controversial move, especially with everything that has gone down or didn’t go down recently with star running back Saquon Barkley, the fact of the matter is Jones is coming off a solid season and has secured his long-term future in New York.
Even though Jones is part of the Giants’ long-term plans and will likely remain the team’s starter for quite some time, one of the Giants’ wide receivers came out in defense of the leader under center in New York on Friday.
With Madden 24 player ratings getting dropped this week, Darius Slayton felt compelled to stick up for his quarterback on Twitter, who was given a player rating of 75.
Lol Daniel Jones a 75….count your days Madden developers I will find you and you will answer for your sins against humanity

That is a meager rating for a starting quarterback in the NFL, but Jones isn’t alone, as there were a couple of other notable starters that got the same or slightly higher or slightly lower that probably didn’t deserve to be put there.
Jones shares the same rating as Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams, while Ryan Tannehill (76), Justin Fields (76), Russell Wilson (77), and Jimmy Garoppolo (77) are slightly ahead, which is a little perplexing.
Despite the low rating, Jones has a chance to prove himself next season, and it will be interesting to see if that rating gets higher or lower over the course of the 2023 campaign.
