The Washington Commanders are officially under new ownership, with the NFL owners voting unanimously to approve the sale of the team to Josh Harris and his ownership group, headlined by Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson.
With the team finally able to move on from Daniel Snyder after over two decades of misery and disappointment, Harris pledges to help turn the storied franchise around and get it back to its winning ways, which will be a tall task considering the situation in the nation’s capital.
Despite the lofty goals for the franchise moving forward, Harris has already poked the bear, so to speak, by taking a shot at one of its biggest rivals.
The NFC East has always been one of the most competitive divisions in the NFL, with some bitter rivalries amongst all the teams in the division, but few compare to the rivalries the Dallas Cowboys have with their division foes.
Harris made sure to call out America’s Team by saying the following about his plans for the Commanders moving forward, via Ari Meirov.
New #Commanders owner Josh Harris: “It’s hard to imagine but I’ve seen the numbers. The Commanders were once the #1 franchise in the NFL back when they were the Redskins. Not the Dallas Cowboys.”
Harris says he wants to bring those glory days back.

If the Commanders can turn things around with Harris and his group at the helm, the rivalry with the Cowboys will definitely start to heat up once again, as Dallas is almost always a contending team in the NFC and is expected to be for the next few years.
As for the Commanders, a lot of work needs to be done to get this team back on track, and there’s no telling how much time that will take.
