The Atlanta Falcons have made significant changes to their roster throughout the 2023 NFL offseason.
After a few seasons of mediocrity that have ended without a postseason appearance, the Falcons appear to be extra hungry to make it back to the playoffs.
They have invested heavily in their offense, but many of their critics are skeptical about the Falcons’ quarterback situation.
As recently highlighted by Dan Orlovsky, however, he believes that Desmond Ridder has demonstrated that he has what it takes to make it as a starting QB.
Ridder sees and throws this very well
It should be a foundational part of their pass game:
-big body skill players
-use of PAP to open horizontal + vertical windows
-QB has a great sense of the throw and spacing of it@AtlantaFalcons pic.twitter.com/mssKg6nZLS

In particular, Orlovsky pointed out a pass that Ridder had last season in a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Despite not lighting up the stat sheet in his games last season, Orlovsky’s analysis indicates that Ridder has fantastic potential for the 2023 season.
In this video, Orlovsky believes that Ridder has “a great sense of the throw,” and that he has great spatial awareness.
This is a small sample size, but every indication from the Falcons organization is that Ridder will be their starter moving forward.
Not only does he have some solid intangibles per Orlovsky’s video, but he also has several elite talents to work with on offense.
Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson were all selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
This team has devoted significant capital to their skill-position players.
If Ridder has half the amount of potential that Orlovsky thinks he does, the Falcons’ offense could make a massive leap this year, finding greater success than their 2022 campaign.
