The NFL has been quiet for a few months as we lead up to the start of training camp.
But the one major free agent that was still available is former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
After plenty of rumors about where Hopkins could end up, he finally found a new home.
According to Doug Kyed via Dov Kleiman, the Tennessee Titans have agreed to a deal with Hopkins.

This may seem like a strange fit but the Titans were willing to pay up for the star receiver.
Hopkins signed a two-year deal worth $26 million.
Plus, he can receive up to $32 million in incentives.
Many people thought Hopkins wanted to sign with a team that could contend for the Super Bowl.
It does not seem like the Titans will be one of those teams next season.
Whew… a lot of us were worried about him going to a contender 🫣

The money he was offered played a major role in his signing.
Playing in a poor AFC South could keep the Titans in the playoff picture throughout the season.
But they will need to go through the Jacksonville Jaguars who look like the real deal.
Interesting! That division just got even more interesting

One player who could benefit the most from Hopkins’ signing is the Titans starting quarterback.
Many think Ryan Tannehill will be the starter to begin the year.
But the Titans picked Will Levis in the second round with the idea that he will take over at some point.
Hopkins can be a security blanket and a young quarterback’s best friend.
Will Levis will actually a weapon he can use on the offense now!

Ultimately this is a surprising signing, but one that will be fun to watch next season.
