For the past couple of months, some New York Jets fans have been worried about Quinnen Williams’ future with the organization.
They can finally rest easy, as Adam Schefter of ESPN broke the news that he’s finally agreed to a four-year extension worth a whopping $96 million — including $66 million guaranteed.
Needless to say, NFL fans had a lot to say about this market-setting deal, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on the matter.

It’s taken years, honestly has taken the entirety of my 26 years of existence, however, my Jets are slowly becoming a smart, respected, and well run organization. Hoping this trend continues!

Notably, the team had already paid his brother, Quincy, and the front office and coaching staff always made it clear that they had every intention to do right by Quinnen and pay him every single penny he deserved.
He’s now made franchise history by signing the deal with the most guaranteed money ever for a New York Jet, surpassing C.J. Mosley’s $51 million from the 2019 offseason.
The 25-year-old will now be tied to the organization until 2027, at the very least, cementing himself as the anchor of one of the most promising defensive units in the league.
Now, Williams will be the league’s second-highest-paid player at his position in terms of annual value ($24 million per year), trailing only Los Angeles Rams star DE Aaron Donald, who makes $31.7 million.
Williams was always expected to reset the market for a player at his position not named Aaron Donald, especially after some of his colleagues also got some big deals in the offseason.
This will put the rumors and speculation of a potential holdout to rest, and the Jets can now focus solely on what’s important: winning.
