The Pittsburgh Steelers are having one of the weirdest seasons in recent memory.
Coming into Sunday, they had a record of 6-3 but were out-gained in every game they played.
The same happened on Sunday but this time the Steelers lost to the Cleveland Browns.
Pittsburgh has a defense that can keep them in every game but their offense is a major issue.
Quarterback Kenny Pickett has not developed as the Steelers had hoped.
Simply put, he is holding this team back.
Pittsburgh had 13 drives on Sunday and picked up only 12 first downs.
Everything seems so difficult for this offense, and it does not help if their players are not on the same page.
There were numerous miscommunications between Pickett and his wide receivers in this game.
But, Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson is not going to point fingers.
According to Brooke Pryor, Johnson said: “Stuff like that happens. Can’t fault him. He’s not perfect, so I can’t sit here and blame him.”

Johnson came to the defense of his quarterback which is what every veteran wide receiver should do.
But, behind closed doors, things need to be fixed.
Pickett has been a disaster this season, throwing for only six touchdowns in 10 games.
It is hard to win football games with no production from your quarterback.
Steelers fans have been vocal about their disdain for offensive coordinator Matt Canada.
He certainly deserves his share of the blame for their offensive woes.
Those “miscommunications” could be partly on Canada.
But, a good quarterback can mask some of the issues within the offense.
It is becoming more and more clear that Pickett is not the guy.
